Kibatsi Technical Institute (KTI) is a government-aided Institution that was founded by C.O.U West Ankole Diocese in 1982 and the Government of Uganda under the Ministry of Education and Sports took it over in 1992. The Institute is now under South Ankole Diocese, Kibatsi Archdeaconry Kajara County Ntungamo District.
Today the Institute is the Modern Institution in the South Western Uganda sub-region that provides wide of a range of skills training programmes with the enrolment of over 300 and 50 staff. It is an accredited assessment centre for the Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board (UBTEB), an internationally accredited centre for City and Guilds London Institute UK, and the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT). The Institute is also a centre of excellence for skilling in Uganda and was rehabilitated, expanded, and equipped with modern workshops, machines, and buildings under Reconstruction & Equipping at Four Technical Institutes (REFTI) project from the Kuwait fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in conjunction with the government of Uganda through the Ministry of Education and Sports.
To be a hub for skills developments.
Improving the citizens 2019 standards of living through education at a manageable cost.
The Institute plans to introduce diploma courses in engineering by 2024 and Upgrading to the standard of a National Technical Collegeu201d (NTC). We have a strong vision for the future and the zeal needed to meet the demands of our vision, mission statement, and core values! We are also committed to providing outstanding students care, and innovative and high-quality training in a conducive teaching and learning environment, whilst supporting our trainees to actively participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. I do appreciate the efforts of the different stakeholders; Parents, District leaders, and the Government through the Ministry of Education and Sports who have enabled the institute to develop to its present status.
In a special way, I greatly appreciate our Lord Bishop of South Ankole Diocese who has continuously supported us and the Foundation body that enabled the start of the Institute and land provision. I would like to thank all the teaching and non-teaching staff for having dedicated their efforts to bring the institute to where they are today. Minus their efforts Kibatsi Technical Institute would not be where it is today with many graduates now in the community giving the skills acquired retrospectively. The Institute has produced women and men (OBs/OGs) of high caliber who have contributed to the development of this country in different ways and are role models in their different capacities.
Last but not least, I would like to appreciate every effort the Board members made in making policies on behalf of the Ministry of Education in liaison with the Foundation Body to be implemented to make the level of the institute reach where it is today. I wish everyone the best and am very grateful to Almighty God who granted us the gift of life to serve this institute.
